Get ready because the VR Games Showcase is making another splash this March, promising what they call their “biggest line-up yet” of XR games. Although details are a bit scarce at the moment, notably the exact date, the organizers assure us via a social media post that more information is just around the corner.
As with previous showcases, much anticipation surrounds the announcement of participating studios, which will give us hints about the exciting games we might see. You can definitely expect a strong focus on Quest games, but don’t worry, there will also be plenty of attention on PSVR 2 and PC VR titles.
Reflecting on last year’s VR Games Showcase, it was a whirlwind of game announcements and updates. We got sneak peeks at gameplay from HITMAN III: Reloaded, a remake of Arizona Sunshine by Vertigo Games, Action Hero from Fast Travel Games, and even got a glimpse of GRIM, a survival game à la Rust. In total, the event highlighted developments from seven different studios and featured over 15 new titles.
A month after that, the livestreamed event hosted the ‘XR Indies and Friends’ segment, which delivered fresh insights into Innerspace VR’s mysterious One True Path, gameplay from Cyborn’s mixed reality adventure Wall Town Wonders, a trailer for Ovid Works’ Metamorphosis adapted for VR, and engaging gameplay from Just Add Water’s digging sim, DIG VR.
As we eagerly count down to the March event, we’ll keep our eyes peeled on the VR Games Showcase YouTube channel, where the event will be livestreamed, for any breaking news and updates. Stay tuned!
