Towerborne is set to make its way to Xbox Game Preview and Xbox Game Pass in 2025, shortly after a period in Early Access. With its latest festive update, Stoic is actively enhancing gameplay, taking into account feedback from a passionate group of early adopters known as the Founders. These dedicated players have been instrumental from the get-go in helping shape the development of Towerborne.
Trisha Stouffer, CEO and President of Stoic, explains, “By launching with a small, dedicated group of players, we’ve been able to incorporate their invaluable feedback to deliver the best possible experience. This connection with our community has always been a cornerstone of Stoic’s philosophy, making the creation of Towerborne not just a task, but a delight.”
As the game moves towards its full release, players can anticipate updates that will further enrich the core elements like the map, missions, and mastery, ensuring Towerborne remains continually engaging.
### Experiencing Grandeur
With the December update, Towerborne immerses its players in holiday cheer with the Belfry donning festive decorations, inviting Aces to partake in seasonal quests. The Forge emits rainbow-hued smoke, gift boxes abound, and characters sport holiday attire, including some adorable festive Umbra appearances!
To embark on the Grandeur adventure, players need to complete the ‘A Writ of Passage’ Primary Quest. Then, they can collect the quest ‘A Grand Plan’ from Ogden in The Belfry at the Counsel Building.
### A Grand(eur) Quest of Depth and Delight
Grandeur introduces a unique, festive quest in Towerborne that blends engaging gameplay with deep character exploration. In this narrative, players help Bumble, the Forge overseer, rediscover his holiday spirit while grappling with homesickness. The journey takes Aces to Aurora Ridge, a breathtaking new area with mesmerizing light displays and a grand finale at the Giant Mistle Bonfire. As they guide Bumble, players can enhance their combat skills, earn rewards, and enjoy a story rich with character insights and dynamic action.
Alex Thomas, Towerborne’s Narrative Writer, shares, “Bumble’s homesickness adds a relatable and heartwarming dimension to this update, reinforcing Towerborne’s broader themes of community and resilience.”
Stoic, known for its perfect blend of gameplay and storytelling, steps away from the somber tones of the Banner Saga to offer a livelier atmosphere in Towerborne. Yet, it maintains its commitment to encouraging players to interact with the game world for deeper narrative exploration. Grandeur exemplifies this by offering deep insights into Bumble’s life while sustaining the game’s vibrant tone.
Thomas adds, “Bumble’s quest is all about the connection and warmth shared through experiences, and with Grandeur, Towerborne seamlessly combines captivating gameplay with a vibrant, evolving world.”
### Themed Challenges & Gifts for All
Throughout the event, Aces will face challenges tied to the festive spirit both inside and beyond the Belfry. Tasks include protecting gift-bearing travelers, lighting Mistle Torches for holiday cheer, and defending the Giant Mistle Bonfire from mischievous Gobo Bombers and Snow Howlers. Naturally, there are gifts awaiting players, ensuring no one leaves the event empty-handed.
### The 12 Days of Grandeur
In addition to festive gear and goodies, the “12 Days of Grandeur” event invites players to log in daily for special surprises. Each day, a unique holiday-themed sticker is available, adding an element of fun and expression within the game. Collecting all 12 stickers offers players a sense of discovery and excitement, keeping the holiday spirit alive and providing playful interaction with fellow Aces.
Beyond this feature, the event brings a host of holiday-themed activities. Players can protect gift deliveries, light Mistle Torches, and confront festive foes like Gobo Bombers and Snow Howlers. These challenges offer exhilarating action while maintaining the cooperative and combat-driven essence of Towerborne, integrating perfectly with the celebration theme.
### Looking Ahead
As Towerborne approaches its full launch, new players will benefit from the experience and insights that early community involvement has fostered. Stoic remains committed to creating a dynamic game where the journey is just as rewarding as the destination.
This update also marks a significant expansion in accessibility, as Towerborne is now available in an array of new languages, including French, Italian, Spanish, Korean, Chinese, Turkish, and many more, with plans to add even more languages in the future.
