Some Stardew Valley players have mistakenly taken on unrelated challenges, spending time on mini-games without realizing it. Stardew Valley is all about uncovering secrets and unlocking new areas, but misunderstandings can complicate this quest.
A notable confusion involves the Skull Cavern, where some players mistakenly devoted hours playing Junimo Kart, missing the actual task entirely.
Recently, a Stardew Valley fan recounted their experience with a mix-up that led to wasted hours. This common blunder resonated with the community, as several players admitted to similar experiences. In Stardew Valley, there’s no conventional “game over.” Whether you prefer to take it slow and easy, or charge through tasks, misunderstandings can derail even the best-laid plans to uncover every secret.
On Reddit, user jack02204 shared a story about their task to reach the 100th floor of the Skull Cavern, as revealed by a Secret Note. But instead of heading to Skull Cavern, they inadvertently ventured to the bottom of the Mines, collecting the Skull Key. This key unlocks both the Skull Cavern and Junimo Kart in the Stardrop Saloon. Mistaking the two as synonymous, they believed the challenge was to succeed in Junimo Kart to reach level 100.
Achieving anything on Junimo Kart is tough, requiring mastering Endless Mode to tackle 100 levels. Jack02204 never got there, spending excessive time on the mini-game before realizing the real task was in Calico Desert, unlocked after the bus repair.
Others empathized with jack02204, imagining they’d have quit if such a challenge was mandatory. The existence of Junimo Kart surprised some, indicating many remain unaware of the arcade game. The dual unlocks of the Skull Key, coupled with Secret Note directions, have baffled many. Some players reached the bottom of the mines only to find confusion instead of resolution. A mishap stands out: a player unfamiliar with the mine’s elevator and repeatedly attempted scaling from the top each time.
