Second Dinner, the creative minds behind Marvel Snap, has just struck a significant partnership with Skystone Games. The announcement broke on Twitter, revealing that the move was prompted by the game being caught in the crossfire of the U.S. TikTok ban. As it happens, Marvel Snap’s former publisher, Nuverse, falls under the wing of ByteDance, the same company behind the TikTok app.
Interestingly, Skystone Games already has a track record with some noteworthy games like Tyrant’s Realm and It Lurks Below, which came from the imagination of David Brevik, co-founder of Second Dinner.
The latest post from Second Dinner offered heartfelt thanks to fans for standing by them during the game’s outage in the United States. The great news is that Marvel Snap is back up on mobile app stores, and there’s more to share about its journey ahead. “To make sure we don’t face similar issues again and with the incredible support from Nuverse—here’s a shout-out to them—Second Dinner is now in the process of moving most operational and publishing duties in-house,” the studio explained. They’re joining forces with their latest U.S. partner, Skystone Games, to make this happen.
This collaboration is the result of a concerted effort from Second Dinner, Nuverse, Skystone, and Marvel. Their collective message? A heartfelt thank you to supporters and a promise of exciting developments for Marvel Snap’s future.
In the past, Second Dinner had expressed its desire to find a U.S. partner, especially after the hiccup in service. It seems they’ve finally found the right match with Skystone Games.
