After weeks of buzz about tariffs, we finally have a confirmed date for preorders of the Switch 2 in the United States.
Nintendo made the announcement today, stating that preorders for the Switch 2 will kick off on Thursday, April 24. As for pricing, the standalone system will be available at $449.99, while a bundle that includes the digital version of Mario Kart World will cost $499.99. For now, these prices are set.
However, Nintendo has noted that some accessory prices are heading upward due to the current market conditions. The Switch 2 Pro Controller, for instance, is now priced at $84.99, which is a $5 increase. Similarly, a pair of Switch 2 Joy-Cons will run you $94.99, also reflecting a $5 hike. If you’re looking to add a second dock set, prepare to spend $119.99—an increase of $10. Joy-Con straps now have a price tag of $13.99, up by $1, and several other accessories have seen a $5 boost. You can check out a complete list of hardware MSRPs, as well as the confirmed prices for Mario Kart World and Donkey Kong Bananza, included with this article.
As for Canada, preorders are expected to open on the same day. However, since today is a national holiday there, confirmations may not roll out immediately. Nevertheless, Nintendo of Canada has assured us of the same preorder date and has communicated the Canadian pricing.
