Intel’s entry into the super-sampling arena has seen significant growth as its XeSS support has now been featured in over 150 games, while XeSS 2 is making its initial strides.
Ever since Intel’s foray into discrete GPUs with the Arc Alchemist series, they’ve been hard at work evolving their upscaling technology. It’s been two years, and though XeSS 2 hasn’t gained massive traction yet, the original XeSS has reached a considerable milestone. Intel recently announced that over 150 gaming titles are now equipped with XeSS support, with even more integration on the horizon.
The list of games that harness XeSS technology is extensive, featuring several leading triple-A titles. However, when stacked against competitors like AMD’s FSR and NVIDIA’s DLSS, XeSS still has ground to cover.
Intel shared the news via Twitter, stating, “We’ve hit the mark on 150+ games with #XeSS support, with more on the way!” and encouraged gamers to experience the benefits of XeSS AI upscaling firsthand.
While Intel is progressing, XeSS 2 hasn’t achieved widespread adoption yet and is only present in two games: F1 2024 and Marvel Rivals. Fortunately, more games like Assassin’s Creed Shadows and Killing Floor 3 are slated to join this list.
Intel’s XeSS Frame Generation adds another layer of enhancement, albeit with limited availability compared to FSR and DLSS Frame Generation methods. At present, XeSS 2 and Frame Generation are exclusively compatible with Intel’s Arc Battlemage GPUs. Only two models, the Arc B580 and Arc B570, have been launched, and both face availability challenges.
Clearly, Intel is paving its path in the gaming realm with continuous advancements, and while there’s still a journey ahead to match the competition, the strides so far are notable.
