Developer Funcom has announced a slight postponement for the release of “Dune: Awakening,” pushing it back by a month based on insights gathered from its beta testing phase.
The game, originally slated for launch on May 15th, will now see the light of day on June 10th. This decision comes after listening to the ongoing closed beta participants, as shared in a post on Funcom’s website.
“Dune: Awakening” immerses players in a quest for dominance over the planet Arrakis, set in an alternate timeline where Paul Atreides, the original series protagonist, hasn’t been born to disrupt the empire.
According to Funcom, feedback from beta testers has been essential in refining the game. The team emphasized the value of their active Discord community, which allows direct interaction between developers and players to enhance “Dune: Awakening” collectively.
“Thanks to this collaborative effort, we realized that extending our timeline would enable us to address much of the valuable feedback from our beta testers,” Funcom stated.
Acknowledging the anticipation among gamers, the company expressed, “This wasn’t a choice we made lightly. We understand everyone’s eagerness, but these additional three weeks are crucial for us to enhance the gameplay experience from the start.”
Additionally, Funcom revealed plans for a larger beta weekend next month, which will welcome even more players to explore the game and offer their insights. More details on this upcoming event will be shared soon.
