Kluge Interactive, the creative minds behind the popular VR rhythm game Synth Riders, have exciting news. They’re gearing up to launch FINAL FURY, their new VR fighting game, which is set to debut in early access next month on both Quest and SteamVR headsets.
Mark your calendars for May 8th if you’re a Quest 2 user or have a PC VR headset, because that’s when Final Fury promises to hit the scene. This arcade-style fighting game introduces classic 1v1 battles to the VR world with its innovative gesture-based gameplay.
What’s really exciting is that the game was developed with insights from none other than Justin Wong, a nine-time EVO champion. His expertise has helped shape the game’s engaging mix of hand gestures and actual room-scale movement, allowing you to step into the shoes of six fighters. Each character comes with distinct moves and stages, and there’s more content slated for future updates.
“When Kluge Interactive reached out to me about FINAL FURY, their vision of blending traditional fighting mechanics with a first-person VR experience really caught my attention,” Wong shared. “After playing and giving feedback on different aspects like dashes, grabs, and character styles, I’m eager to see how players will embrace it when it launches in Early Access.”
As it rolls out in early access, players can expect:
- You are the Fighter! – Dive into fully immersive VR combat with authentic punches, dodges, and blocks.
- Innovative VR Combat – Experience nostalgic fighter mechanics transformed for VR.
- Expanding Roster – Start with six fighters, each with unique powers, arenas, and styles; more will be added post-launch.
- Arcade Mode Unlocks – Challenge the AI to unlock new fighters, stages, and cosmetics.
- Online Multiplayer – Enjoy cross-platform play with rollback netcode for fluid, competitive gameplay.
- Pulse-Pounding OST – Groove to an original soundtrack by Zardonic, known for work on SUPERHOT: MCD.
Final Fury is available for wishlisting now on the Horizon Store for Quest 2 and above, as well as on Steam for PC VR headsets. Get ready for its release on May 8th, priced at an accessible $9.99.
