Roth paired up with Light Sail VR to shoot some jaw-dropping footage featuring an array of stars including Cate Blanchett, Kevin Hart, and Ariana Greenblatt. While the footage is an absolute treat when watched in VR, it doesn’t fall short of impressive in 2D either.
Roth expressed his enthusiasm, sharing, “I’m a big VR enthusiast and have been experimenting with a GoPro 360 since 2018. With COVID-19 limiting in-person set visits, I wanted to offer fans a taste of the immersive experience of filming the vibrant world of Borderlands. You’ll witness the unbelievable set designs crafted by our talented art department in Budapest. You’ll be side by side with the actors as they rehearse, and see Cate Blanchett and Ariana Greenblatt performing daring feats, like running and jumping a hundred feet in the air from a collapsing truck bed. Light Sail VR helped us create this remarkable experience, placing you right in the thick of the action. It truly captures the essence and energy of being on set amidst the wild world of Borderlands.”

Borderlands tells the story of a legendary bounty hunter, played by Blanchett, returning to her native planet, Pandora, on a mission to locate the missing daughter of the villainous Atlas, portrayed by Edgar Ramírez.
