Game Source Entertainment and Tokyo Virtual Theory, or TVT, have exciting news for rhythm game enthusiasts: their rhythm-based roguelike action game, Ratatan, is making its way to the Nintendo Switch.
Set on the vibrant island of Rataport, which buzzes with energy amidst a serene sea, this game introduces players to Ratatan, a quirky creature brimming with joy and living in harmony with its companions, the Cobun. Despite their varied appearances and personalities, they share a unified goal: to journey to The Everafter in hopes of meeting The Goddess, who is believed to reside there. No matter how many setbacks they encounter, their dream of meeting The Goddess remains unwavering.
Ratatan is a collaborative project with Hiroyuki Kotani, the producer behind the acclaimed Patapon series. Players step into the shoes—or rather, the paws—of Ratatan, wielding enchanted instruments to choreograph commands for the Cobun armies to unleash on foes. Hit the right notes and the game rewards you with Fever Mode, an exhilarating state where the music ramps up and characters spring into more dynamic actions.
Slated for a global digital release on the Nintendo eShop, Ratatan will be available to Switch players in 2025.
