Have you been eager to finally get your hands on “Dune Awakening” after all the chatter? Well, I’ve got some good news for you. There’s a free open beta weekend coming up from May 9 to May 12, which means you’ll get a chance to dive into the game yourself.
To join in, you’ll need to either wishlist the game before May 9 for a shot at access or snag one of the numerous beta codes the team will be distributing over the weekend. So, it’s open in the sense that access is limited to a bit of luck. Kind of like leaving the door slightly open.
Interestingly, this beta is happening just a few days before the planned release date of May 15, which got pushed back because the folks at Funcom wanted some extra time to perfect everything.
During the beta, players can explore the first two regions. These should provide roughly 20 hours of gameplay if you take your time. You can check out a few Research Facilities, experiment with different class abilities, and even engage in some PvP action at ship crash sites. It’s a nice little preview of what’s to come. If you’re curious about our thoughts, we have a new preview of “Dune Awakening” that dives into this part of the experience.
Excited about the open beta? We’d love to hear your thoughts in the comments!
