PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium subscribers have something exciting to look forward to this year. Expect four games to hit the Game Catalog perk as they roll out, including a standout title from Remedy Entertainment: the multiplayer first-person shooter, “FBC: Firebreak,” which is now aiming for a release in Summer 2025.
“FBC: Firebreak” transports players back to The Oldest House, the headquarters of the Federal Bureau of Control—familiar territory for fans of the acclaimed action game “Control.” Remedy Entertainment is taking a different approach this time, opting to emphasize gameplay over the deep narratives it’s known for. They’re crafting a live-service game that avoids the pressure-infused FOMO elements typically found in the genre. What’s more, all the content is free and designed to be enjoyed at your own pace.
A new trailer has dropped, showcasing the Paper Chase Job, which is just one of the many missions you’ll tackle in “FBC: Firebreak.” This particular mission involves the Firebreak Initiative taking on a section of The Oldest House overwhelmed by rogue sticky notes. The trailer also gives a sneak peek at the various loadouts you’ll have as you fend off the Hiss threat.
Upon its release, “FBC: Firebreak” will be available on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC through the Epic Games Store and Steam.
This game is part of a quartet of releases available through the Game Catalog at launch. Other announcements include “Lost Records: Bloom & Rage,” “Blue Prince,” and “Abiotic Factor.” Currently, PS Plus Extra and Premium subscribers can dive into the first part of “Lost Records,” with its second installment dropping next month.
As a bonus, PS Plus members can also enjoy early access to the PS Store’s Spring Sale. This means they can snag amazing deals on games like “Cyberpunk 2077” and “Call of Duty: Black Ops 6” right now.
