Dark Math Games has made headlines by securing a substantial seven-figure investment.
According to a report by GI.biz, the studio—established by veterans from the Disco Elysium team at ZA/UM—has obtained the necessary funding to bring their debut project, XXX Nightshift, to life. The financial boost comes courtesy of MM Grupp, an Estonian investment firm that also backed Disco Elysium in its early days.
Studio co-founder and former executive producer of Disco Elysium, Kaur Kender, expressed his excitement about the collaboration: “We’re delighted to partner with an investor who not only understands the intricacies of the video game industry but also values the artistic vision behind our work,” Kender noted. “MM Grupp’s support will provide us with the stability and foresight needed for the long haul. We’ve achieved remarkable things together in the past, and we’re confident we can replicate that success.”
Kristel Volver, CEO of MM Grupp, shared her enthusiasm about the partnership: “The Dark Math team has a commendable track record, and their innovative game concept is both ambitious and captivating.”
Dark Math Games joins several other studios emerging with leadership from ex-ZA/UM staff, such as Summer Eternal, which was founded by Disco Elysium writer Argo Tuulik. The gaming community is eagerly watching as these new ventures unfold.
