SNEG has finally unveiled the release date for the much-anticipated adventure game, Captain Blood, coming to the Nintendo Switch.
This game was originally slated for an Xbox 360 release back in 2010, but things came to a screeching halt when its publisher folded, leaving legal issues that kept the developers from launching it. Fast forward 15 years, and those hurdles have now been cleared.
The storyline kicks off with a local magistrate’s daughter being snatched away. In a twist of fate, he turns to Captain Blood and his fearless crew to come to her rescue. You’ll step into the boots of “the manliest pirate captain ever to sip grog while charming maidens across the Spanish Main.” Your journey will be filled with explosive cannon battles, pistols at the ready, daring sword fights, and an abundance of pirate antics.
“Captain Blood is a tribute to an earlier era of gaming,” shares SNEG’s co-founder, Artem Shchuiko. “Back then, you could complete a fun, straightforward, and QTE-heavy game over a weekend and still have room to discuss the specs of upcoming consoles. Gamers of all ages have been yearning for a classic pirate adventure, and it’s finally arriving!”
