Renowned for crafting popular handheld consoles, Ayaneo recently unveiled its latest top-tier device, the Ayaneo 3. Building on the foundation laid by its predecessor, this new model maintains a familiar design and button layout, while incorporating a host of hardware upgrades.
In an announcement on their blog, Ayaneo shared that the Ayaneo 3 can be equipped with either an AMD Ryzen 7 8840U processor or the more robust AMD Ryzen AI 9 HX 370. The device also boasts a seven-inch high-refresh LCD or OLED HDR display, offering gamers the ultimate immersive experience. To give players even more control, the Ayaneo 3 introduces two additional buttons on the back of the console.
Despite the excitement, Ayaneo has kept further details about the Ayaneo 3 under wraps for now, leaving us eagerly waiting for more information regarding its RAM, storage options, and pricing. To provide some context, if we look at its predecessor, the Ayaneo 2 offered configurations with either 16GB or 32GB of RAM and storage options of 512GB, 1TB, or 2TB. Its starting price was set at $1,099, climbing to $1,549 for the limited-edition B.Duck model. Given these details, we can anticipate similar configurations for the Ayaneo 3 with a slightly higher price tag.
This new entry from Ayaneo is among the first handheld consoles to leverage the AMD Ryzen AI 9 HX 370, promising a significant performance boost with its four additional cores and Zen 5 architecture. While most games do not yet take full advantage of the NPU in the HX 370 processor, its AMD Radeon 890M integrated GPU ensures greater power than the AMD Ryzen 7 8840U, making it a formidable contender among current PC gaming handhelds, many of which rely on the Ryzen Z1 Extreme.
