The seamless co-op mod for Elden Ring, crafted by modder Yui, has gained immense popularity among gamers. Yui is now channeling the same magic into another beloved title—Dark Souls 3.
When it comes to online multiplayer, FromSoftware’s design choices have always been interesting. They offer a slightly easier mode by allowing two silent protagonists to dodge-roll their way to victory, instead of just one. However, teaming up with friends can sometimes be a bit of a hassle. That’s where Yui steps in, having already made waves with the Elden Ring seamless co-op mod and a similar creation for Armored Core 6: Fires of Rubicon. Now, Yui is venturing into the realm of Dark Souls 3 with a new seamless co-op mod.
Yui recently shared an exciting video of this mod in action, showcasing gameplay with a friend as they journey through Lothric Castle. If you haven’t played the game yet but have it on your list, beware of potential spoilers! In the video’s description, Yui explains that the mod “removes all multiplayer boundaries and allows connections to persist after death. Play with friends from the tutorial to the very end of the game, with synchronized progress, and no resummoning or interruptions. Invasions are optional and active by default. You can adjust the multiplayer scaling of the enemies to your liking.” It’s exactly what you’d hope for in a mod like this!
As of now, there’s no confirmed release date for the mod, so you’ll need to muster some patience. On the bright side, a new Elden Ring game titled Nightreign is expected this year and will feature built-in seamless co-op, offering a fresh boss-focused roguelite experience.
