Silent North, brought to us by Combat Waffle, the same team behind Ghosts of Tabor, has just launched in early access on Quest and PC VR headsets. This latest offering combines the thrills of a sandbox survival shooter with a VR experience.
If you’ve ever played Face Punch Studio’s Rust from 2013, you’ll find some familiar vibes here. Silent North transports you to a sandbox world of survival where you call the shots. Will you build alliances, turn on everyone, or take a step back to simply observe the evolving world around you? The choice is yours in this dynamic environment.
Scott Albright, CEO and founder of Combat Waffle Studios, sheds some light on what sets Silent North apart. “It’s a stark departure from Ghosts of Tabor, shifting the focus to survival elements like intense raids, strategic combat, and resource extraction,” he says. “The survival genre is vast, but it often lacks immersive VR experiences. We’re aiming to change that.”
Of course, the game wouldn’t be complete without some added tension. From battling environmental elements and fending off hostile Infected (yes, we’re talking zombies) to navigating the agendas of other players, every moment is packed with challenge.
Silent North is in its “alpha Early Access release” stage and can be found on the Horizon Store for Quest 2 and later, as well as for PC VR headsets on Steam, all for $20.
