Dave Baszucki, the CEO of Roblox, has addressed concerns from parents about the platform, suggesting that if they’re worried about potential issues, perhaps it’s best to keep their children away.
In a conversation with the BBC, the co-founder and chief executive of Roblox emphasized that any negative encounter on the platform is one too many. “If you’re not comfortable,” Baszucki remarked, “then maybe it’s a sign not to let your kids play on Roblox.” He acknowledged that might sound a bit contradictory, but he firmly believes in empowering parents to make decisions that best suit their families.
When asked about reports concerning negative interactions and the presence of malicious users on Roblox, Baszucki made it clear, “Within our company, we have a strict stance that even a single bad incident is unacceptable. We’re vigilant against bullying, harassment, and similar issues, employing filters to manage such behavior. Behind the scenes, our efforts extend to collaborating with law enforcement if needed.”
These discussions have surfaced amid increasing reports of bad actors on Roblox, prompting the company to enhance its child safety protocols in response to growing concerns.
