In Walkabout Mini Golf, players now have the exhilarating opportunity to scale the heights of Mount Olympus. This iconic setting marks the game’s 32nd course, following closely on the heels of the Viva Las Elvis course released earlier this year. Studio head Lucas Martell shares that this course is even grander than the previously largest course, the Temple At Zerzura, which debuted in 2023.
Imagine this: Perched high above the Aegean Sea, the mythical realm of gods and goddesses unveils itself. This is where the Olympians gather to influence mortal destinies, all through an extraordinary miniature golf journey. Players navigate through detailed temples and mythical terrains, facing various challenges along the way. Be prepared, though; the Olympian Council is watching closely, and your golf prowess will determine whether you earn their favor—or face their divine wrath!
As you ascend Mount Olympus, you’ll come across temples and offerings adorned with symbols representing key figures from the Greek pantheon such as Zeus, Apollo, and Artemis. My recent expedition with Walkabout’s creator, Lucas Martell, turned out to be our most detailed exploration yet, featuring a 28-minute deep dive into the making of this course.

I also had an engaging conversation with Don Carson, the senior art director at Mighty Coconut, delving into the creative process behind the game. According to him, their goal is to “over deliver,” employing a complex design strategy that unfolds over more than a year with various teams taking turns to develop the courses. At present, the studio, affectionately referred to as the Coconuts, consists of dozens of passionate team members.
With Mount Olympus following the unprecedented sales success brought by the Elvis course, which boasted the highest single sales day in the game’s five-year history, it’s exciting to consider whether players will keep up the momentum and continue to explore new additions from the store.
Walkabout Mini Golf is available across all major headsets and on iOS, inviting players everywhere to join in on the fun.
