Nintendo has hit a major milestone, with over 150.86 million Nintendo Switch consoles sold globally.
In just the nine months leading up to December 31, 2024, they moved 9.54 million units. Although this was a 30.6% drop from the previous year, Nintendo noted that blockbuster titles like The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom and Super Mario Bros. Wonder had pumped up their hardware sales during the past year.
On the gaming front, Nintendo has nearly hit a staggering 1.36 billion Nintendo Switch games sold to date. In those same nine months, they sold 123.98 million copies—a slip of 24.4% from the previous year.
Curious about the top ten fan favorites? Well, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe has raced to 67.35 million in sales, Animal Crossing: New Horizons captured 47.44 million hearts, and Super Smash Bros. Ultimate knocked out 35.88 million copies. The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild continues its epic journey with 32.62 million sold, and Super Mario Odyssey isn’t far behind with 29.04 million copies. On the Pokémon front, Pokémon Sword and Shield have caught 26.60 million fans.
And let’s not forget, Pokémon Scarlet and Violet are gaining traction with 26.38 million sales, while The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom has already sold 21.55 million copies. Super Mario Party joins the ranks with 21.10 million sold, and New Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe entertained 18.06 million players.
