ASRock’s latest set of Radeon RX 9070 series graphics cards has been spotted online, unveiling their upcoming Steel Legend and Taichi custom designs.
ASRock seems to be gearing up for a strong entry in the lineup of AMD’s RDNA 4 GPUs with their forthcoming Radeon RX 9070 and RX 9070 XT models. While we are still waiting for any official images from other manufacturers, ASRock’s cards have made an early appearance online, showcasing three distinct lines: Steel Legend, Taichi, and Challenger. Let’s dive in, starting with the Taichi series. This model appears to be the top-tier offering from ASRock, featuring an elegant design with three fans and a robust heatsink, which accounts for its three-slot size.
What’s particularly intriguing about the Taichi version is its use of a 12V-2×6 power connector. Not every model will come with this feature since AMD has provided flexibility for manufacturers based on each model’s power needs. This connector is capable of handling up to 600 watts of power, signaling that the Taichi variant is built for both performance and overclocking potential.
Moving on to the Steel Legend model, this one is described as ASRock’s mid-range option and will be available in both white and silver finishes. It features a 2.5-slot design with three fans. Unlike the Taichi, this model uses the more common 2x 8-pin power connector, which is expected to be standard for AMD’s board partners except for higher-end models like the Taichi.
As for when you can expect these models to hit the shelves, it’s anticipated to be within the next week. This timing aligns with rumors suggesting AMD will start pre-orders for its RX 9070 series GPUs around that period.
