At the highly anticipated 2025 Action Briefing event, Renegade Games made a splash with their exciting updates to the Axis & Allies historical tabletop game series. For fans of harnessing the power of the world’s greatest military forces during the World Wars, there’s a lot to look forward to this year. The line-up features four significant releases: a brand-new theater of war, a nostalgic return of an old favorite, a sprawling deluxe battle map, and an intriguing fantasy game in the Powered by Axis & Allies collection.
The most buzzworthy reveal undoubtedly was the announcement of Axis & Allies Stalingrad. Crafted by the talented duo Matt Hyra and Larry Harris, this new title brings the infamous and grueling Battle of Stalingrad to life on the tabletop. After taking over the Axis & Allies license in 2022, Renegade conducted comprehensive surveys to gauge which historical battles their audience wanted to experience. According to a representative from Renegade, the epic battle in Stalingrad was a fan favorite, coming in second only to A&A: North Africa, which hit the shelves in 2024.
In a nod to nostalgia, Renegade also shared that the beloved classic A&A: Battle of the Bulge will make its way back into circulation. Although originally released in 2006, this two-player game remains iconic as it simulates the pivotal clash that contributed to the downfall of Nazi Germany, with players assuming the roles of either the Allies or the Axis forces. Renegade clarified that they won’t be making any major changes to the original game’s structure.
Aside from these standout announcements, Renegade took the opportunity to remind fans of other exciting titles arriving this year. Axis & Allies: Battle for the Deep offers a fresh fantasy twist, plunging players into a fascinating underwater realm where four aquatic factions have been locked in conflict for centuries. Scheduled for a February release, this four-player game extends the Powered by Axis & Allies line, which ingeniously utilizes core A&A mechanics in imaginative, non-historical scenarios, building on the success of last year’s G.I. JOE Battle for the Arctic Circle.
To top it all off, Renegade is also rolling out a 1914 edition of its expansive Deluxe Map. Much like the 1940 Global Deluxe Map, this neoprene beauty spans over four feet, charting crucial wartime locations. All these exciting products are set to be available for pre-order through Renegade Games’ official website.
