Have you ever stopped to think about how much cash you’re actually saving as a PC Game Pass subscriber? If you’re anything like me, it’s something that might have crossed your mind. Well, brace yourself, because the savings are substantial—just shy of $5,000 in 2024 alone.
Jamie Hore from PCGamesN did the math. He kept a close eye on all 137 games added to the service this year, calculated their individual values when they were introduced, and arrived at the staggering sum of $4,812.63. And to put that into perspective, a full year of PC Game Pass will set you back about $143. That’s a whole lot of money staying in your pocket.
Of course, this figure comes with a few strings attached. It’s based on the idea that you’re downloading every single game as soon as it’s available. And let’s face it, savings are only meaningful if you’re genuinely playing the games. Personally, saving $30 on Starfield is tempting, but I’m not sure it’s enough to sway me.
Still, when you look at the data, it’s hard to deny the potential for saving with Game Pass. The PCGamesN article even breaks it down by month, revealing that April was particularly beneficial, offering 17 new games, including five on release day. December, however, wasn’t as impressive with just six new additions, though it still managed to offer potential savings of $214.94. Not too shabby, even on an off month!
How does all of this make you feel about PC Game Pass? Does it make you more inclined to subscribe, maybe regretting not jumping on board last year? Or are you the type who sails on different adventures, not bothered by such savings? Share your thoughts below—we’d love to hear them.
