It was a calm evening leading up to the update when everything seemed just right. Gamers found themselves staying up late, glued to their Xbox, well into the night. Then, without warning, a popup appeared on their screens, announcing a system update. It was a pleasant surprise, promising numerous fixes and new features. After downloading, players eagerly dived back into their games, ready to battle in-game foes once more.
Hey there, Insiders! Brace yourselves for a short but fun-filled update from the community. First and foremost, the team wishes you all a joyful holiday season and a wonderful New Year! Even though I’m not personally fond of the cold and dark winter days, they’ve rolled in anyway. The early sunsets and crisp weather in the Northern Hemisphere have brought out our cozy sweaters and given us a perfect excuse to snuggle indoors with our Xbox!
As is tradition, the team has pressed pause on releasing preview builds for both consoles and PCs during the holiday season. This is to ensure that everyone enjoys maximum stability while gaming over the holidays. But don’t worry; they’re still diligently working on upcoming releases and are keeping an eye on feedback to resolve any issues that might pop up. Remember to keep an eye on the Insider Hub throughout December and January, as there’s always new content to look forward to!
### From Our Team to You
We genuinely thank each and every one of you for making this community so special. Being part of the Xbox Insider Program fills me with pride, and we want to express our heartfelt gratitude for the support you’ve all shown.
Before wrapping up, I asked a few team members to share what they’re up to when they’re not busy this holiday season, whether that’s gaming or just kicking back. Here’s what they had to share:
Jon is aiming to finish Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, along with the Ode to Castlevania DLC for Vampire Survivors. Joshua’s all about re-watching classic holiday films and diving deep into Indiana Jones and the Great Circle. Tim is embracing his love for challenges with Nine Sols and savors quality time with family visiting from out of town. Donovan is eager to spend the month playing Path of Exile 2, enjoying family time, and indulging in nostalgic Christmas films to enhance his holiday spirit.
Sally is indulging in lots of cookies, soaking in some cozy games, and eagerly anticipating new PowerWash Simulator DLC—all while spending time with family and friends. And there’s Leland, who has an interesting method. He picks two story-driven games each year and dedicates a week in December to fully immerse himself in them, free from distractions. It’s his special time, and he’s excitedly counting down the days.
As for me, having completed the Black Ops 6 camo grind, it feels like I can truly start playing the game! I’m also setting out to finish achievements for Aliens: Dark Descent and battling the ever-persistent Jack Frost to keep our geese’s pond from freezing over, as it often does.
What about you? We’re curious to hear what you’re up to this month—what games you’re playing or your holiday plans. Join the conversation on our subreddit under the December Community update post pinned at the top. I’ll be dropping by throughout the month as ScantilyCloud to chat and field any questions. Feel free to share game recommendations from 2024—we’re always up for expanding our game libraries!
