When Survios dropped their much-anticipated horror-shooter, Alien: Rogue Incursion (2024), last week, gamers didn’t realize they were in for a ‘Part One.’ The release may have led to some raised eyebrows—are we buying an incomplete game? Is this just a segment of a larger episodic series? Well, fear not, because you’re not getting shortchanged. Instead, it’s a hint of more gripping content to follow.
As the game debuted on PC VR and PSVR 2, the addition of ‘Part One’ puzzled many. Is the entire game present, or is it chopped into segments? Rest assured, as our comprehensive review confirms, Alien: Rogue Incursion is a complete eight-hour journey, which we rated a solid 7 out of 10. This score reflects its captivating environments and heart-pounding moments with ravenous Xenomorphs. However, the game does stumble slightly with repetitive enemies and a challenging save system.
Survios has since clarified the ‘Part One’ label in a social media post, emphasizing that it’s not a ploy to spoon-feed the game in chunks. Although this standalone adventure concludes on a cliffhanger, it simply lays the groundwork for a two-part saga.
Excitingly, Survios confirmed that Part Two is already in the works. Players can expect fiercer foes and tougher trials, which is exactly what fans are eager for.
While we enjoy the current game, we’re also eagerly anticipating the Quest release slated for February 13th, 2025, on Quest 3/3S. Our review highlighted the game’s dynamically loaded levels, intricate textures, and vast physics-based interactions—likely factors in the delayed release for Quest.
