In Ravenswatch, you step into the roles of heroes drawn from legendary tales and folklore. Characters like Little Red Riding Hood and Sun Wukong come to life as you unravel their stories across various game sessions. Each playthrough takes you through open-world maps inspired by magical forests, tales from One Thousand and One Nights, and the lore of Arthurian legends. Along your journey, you’ll meet Reverie’s inhabitants who need your help. Lend a hand to the Three Little Pigs with their house-building or perhaps rescue Sinbad the Sailor when he’s in a bind. Completing these quests will earn you rewards crucial for future encounters.

Whether playing solo or teaming up with up to four others in co-op mode, this action-packed roguelike is now available on Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One!

Meet the Ravenswatch

In Ravenswatch, players become fallen heroes from timeless stories that have been given a dark twist. Take Scarlet, for instance—our take on Red Riding Hood, who becomes a fearsome wolf at night, preying on Nightmares. Or consider the Pied Piper, a maestro who uses swarms of rats in combat. From Beowulf swinging his hefty sword with his tiny dragon companion to Mélusine releasing powerful magic with water spirits, each hero brings a distinct style to battling the Nightmares threatening Reverie!

When you start, you’ll choose from Scarlet, The Pied Piper, Beowulf, and the Snow Queen—but there are nine characters to unlock in total! Discover them as you progress and delve into the full roster. Sometimes the best secrets are revealed right in the heart of battle!

Who Fits into the Ravenswatch?

Finding the right hero to fit within our game is no easy task. Each character is central to gameplay and vital to the essence of Ravenswatch.

When considering a new addition, we focus on four key pillars:

1. Gameplay Dynamics: Every hero needs to offer a fresh gameplay experience. Whether preferring ranged, melee, or unique playstyles, no two heroes should feel the same. Introducing new characters should always bring something invigorating to the mix.

2. Global Recognition: While we pull characters from all corners of the globe, our heroes must enjoy worldwide recognition. It’s important for players to connect with familiar names. Plus, they must fit within the shared universe, which is why we steer clear of both too ancient and overly modern tales with advanced tech.

3. Captivating Backstory: A rich backstory can serve as the starting point for character development. By using memorable events or symbols—a wolf consuming grandma or Aladdin’s lamp—these twisted tales breathe new life into each character.

4. Diverse Ensemble: We aim to see our heroes come together as a diverse cast. That striking “family photo” of colorful and varied characters is fulfilling and crucial!
